headlight problem

headlight problem

hi just bought a pontiac gta 5.7 tpi trans am and the problems are the headlights wont go down.and also the starter solenoid just clicks and it doesnt always crank over.are they any relays anywhere or do i need to check the starter motor first.it looks very tight to remove.cheers

Headlights, IDK. Starter, check the connections at the starter and the battery first and check grounds for good connections. Second, have battery checked at Auto Zone for free. Last, have starter checked at Auto Zone for free.

For the headlights check the motors by direct jump from battery. The wiring diagram is in the book. It's most likely the control module (4inch square box on driver side firewall). top-downsolutions.com has a reman one for about $60.
