Hazards problem
Hey guys, help me out
I Got my iroc and the turning signals have no problem at all and work fine. The hazards however have not worked since i got them, so today i found that the hazards fuse in the fusebox was not there. So I went and got a fuse, and when I turned on the ignition, or turned on the lights, it would make a buzz/ring. Whats going on? What do I need to do?
thanks

Re: Hazards problem
You didn't have brake lights either then.
Do the hazards at least flash as they are supposed to ?
The stop/haz fuse also powers the audible alarm (door chime, irritating sound). Seems like it may have went bad and someone yanked fuses until the noise stopped instead of yanking/replacing the chime itself.

The arrow is point at the turn signal flasher. The black box directly under it is the audible alarm .

Re: Hazards problem
Thanks deadbird, exactly what I was looking for.
What would make the alarm go bad? A short circuit somewhere or something?

Re: Hazards problem
Could be age, a spike/short, the ign key contacts stuck together... They aren't really complex inside and came in most all 80's 90's GMs...

Would the wires for the alarm just go under the dash? If i find faulty wiring for it, where would it be?

In the tech section on the main page, https://www.thirdgen.org/technical-articles; there are links to 85-6 diagrams under 'electrical'.
Attached is for '91 but, all years should be the same/similar...

Nothing, aside from not having that 'chime' telling you your lights are on or, your key is is the ignition.
I've yanked that box from every GM car I've had (which is why I could take that last picture of its internals).
