sticking starter solenoid? need help ASAP
Ok so i went to start my car earlier and i turned the key, heard a loud click (like my battery is dead) and then all my power dissapeared... no voltage, no lights no nothing im leaning towards a sticking starter soleniod but im not sure...
THe PO used a marine solenoid for the starter which i have yet to replace, the battery was reading 12.63 volts so i know its good, good on CCA's, now when i tapped that solenoid the voltometer popped back up and it was all good, got it started but now its happening more often does this sound like a sticking solenoid???
Im probably gonna replace the solenoid itself because im broke right now, when i jumped the terminals it cranked every time so im thinking the plunger is outta wack, like i said being broke a 20$ solenoid is great compared to a $60+ starter im gonna toss when i do my t56 swap (tooth count)
any ideas? Info?

If it is the old style big AC Delco starter you can reverse the contact studs and copper button in the solenoid cap to get another 100K out of it.
The contacts arc away over time not transferring power properly.Worth a look before spending $$$

Ill give it a shot, the PO put in that marine solenoid like 3 years back now so I'm just gonna grab a new one, does the problemk described sound like a sticking soleniod? I know there's nothing else on the car that can draw that much power
