Painless hot wire to what?

where in the fuse box do you guys recommend i run the hot wire (ignition hot wire) from my Painless harness to? This wire is supposed to have juice to it when the key is first turned on and lights up the check engine light and runs power to the ecm. It can be a slot thats already being used and has a fuse in it can't it. I just run a spade connector in the slot with the fuse right? Or do i need a slot that isn't being used? I would just poke around with a test light with the key turned on but i have the battery cables out of the car.

For the fuel pump relay, the ECM sends the 12v IGN signal to engage the relay. Splice into the factory relay wiring

If you put a spade into a fuse point, it will work, just not like the ECM did it. For a carb conversion, use an INJ fuse slot

Re: Painless hot wire to what?

i need to go with a spade into a fuse point as i'm not using the old ecm or relays. The painless harness has it's own ecm and relays. They just didn't tell me where to plug into the fuse box to get my 12v of power. Any open slot that has power with the key on will work right?
