Sylvania 100w vs Sylvania Silverstar 55w?

For my Fog Lights....

I already have Silverstar headlights & they are great. I love them.

But I was looking at Fog Light bulbs tonight & see the Sylvania "normal" 100w bulbs & the Silverstar 55w bulbs. The Silverstars are just over double the cost, but 45w lower power.

So I guess my question is about the higher wattage level vs Silverstar. Which would give better lighting? High watts? or Silverstar?

Not sure. But I wonder if the factory wiring would handle 100 watts - something for you to ponder.

i worry more about the housings than the wiring. yes, the wiring can be easily upgraded, but i dont believe the housings are built to take the extra heat the 100w bulbs put out over the 55w. wiring's easy to find, but melting a fog light housing will ruin your day...

I seriously doubt the Firebird's real metal & real glass housings will melt.....

The housings won't melt, and the wiring is fine... But the housings aren't designed properly for a bulb that hot. The filament in the bulbs will overheat and the bulbs will go out. Been there, done that, swapped back to 55w bulbs and suddenly I didn't have to change the fog light bulbs every week.
