Turn signal suddenly won't work-not bulb or fuse! GRRR

I know this is minor but looking for any input from anyone that might have had a similar issue. I just got this car going and working through all the bugs still. The right rear turn signal was not lighting so the front right would just come on and not blink. So I take the rear bulb out and it's fine, clean it up and replace it and it was working then. Blinking as it should. Drove it for a day and it quit. So take it apart again and now I have no voltage going to that turn signal bulb at all. Front one just comes on and does not blink. Why would I now suddenly have no power going to this bulb? Has anyone had this crop up on them before? I hate wiring issues and not real good at understanding my wiring diagram. All fuses good and have checked it with my volt meter. There is no voltage there at all now when the signal is turned on. Any particular problem areas I could focus on to find where the short might be?

Does the right rear hazard work?

If no, the problem is wiring to the socket.

If yes, put the key in RUN, turn signal stalk in the right turn position, use a test light to probe the
dark green wire out of the turn signal switch.

Is there power there?

If not, replace the switch.

If there is power there, make sure it gets in and out of the connector located near the lower right of the steering column.

Then make sure power gets in and out of the connector located at the left rear in the hatch area.

From there it goes to the lamp socket.

NINA, thank you so much for responding. After reading your post and finally having time today to look a little further, I realized that the signal worked when I had the tilt steering in certain locations, so the short is in the column somewhere like you said. If it is inside, how big of a deal is it to get into that area? Thanks for any insight you can provide.

OK it sounds like the connector to the turn signal switch is loose or a contact is dirty, or there is a bad crimp on one of the wires to the connector.

Using a steering wheel puller you can remove the steering wheel, then move the tilt mechanism thru it’s range to see how the dark green wire is being moved.

If it’s a bad crimp you can add solder to the area to secure the connection.
