will it fit
will it fit
Will an 83 V8 CFI wiring harness and brain fit and be compatible in a 92 V8 TBI. I am pulling the CFI out of the 83 and dropping it into the 92 body.

Re: will it fit
Well to awnser my own question after 2 days surfing the forums I dont know yet. Im going to try pulling the harness and ecm from the c100 block on downout of the 83 and them Im going to repin the 92 c100 block to accept the male end of the 83 harness. Then I will swap the ECM. Cross fingers.
Re: will it fit
You'll need several runner wires to account for the very old 83 pinout differences from the 90-92 dash harness. IMHO it's easier to repin from the engine side than the dash
Dont forget to wire in an electric VSS along with a buffer box

Hey Pocket glad you found my post. So This is my first foray into repining the c100, it sounds like you are dashing my hopes of reorienting a few leads and plugging in my 83 harness into the 92 c100. So, I am also going to have to install a speed sensor. I woud not have thought of that. You also mentioned several runner wires do you think you might tell me what those are .....please.
Re: will it fit
Today is your lucky day. It was nasty outside so I couldnt work on the blower so I read through diagrams for a little while and traced out as much of the swap as I could for you
8 wires need to move. AllData only had universal diagrams for the CFI on the fueling circuits so the body pins are unknown. You'll have to track down the pump and INJ1/2 fuses on your own. You'll have to add the VSS wires from the TBI harness to the CFI C100 for the speedo to work
