Power to coil keeps engine running so somewhere you have a wiring problem that is putting 12V to the coil bypassing the IGN switch
Check wiring

Yes he does, and probably involves the oil pressure sending unit line.

Therefore, using an ohmmeter, locate the short or erroneous connection by connecting one test lead from the
gray wire at the oil pressure sending unit, and the other lead to the coil primary key side.

You should see low resistance there.

However you want high resistance.

Therefore backtrace the circuit between the ohmmeter probes to find the short or erroneous connection.

(When using an ohmmeter, make sure there is no voltage present at the moment in the circuit under test.)

Happy Racing!

How bout those too scared to drive without headlights in the daytimeand the ones that need headlights for a little rain

Re: help won't turn off

Your car should have originally had a fuse, pass side, between battery and fender, tucked inside a weatherpack. See if it's still there, and remove it. Now see if the car keeps running.

Not sure how you have the fuel pump wired - but that fuse is the fuel pump circuit that runs through the oil pressure sending unit. If you are still using the in-tank fuel pump, removing that fuse may keep your fuel pump from running - but at least you know it's that circuit that's backfeeding the power to your coil wire, and then you can go back and rewire the fuel pump.
