Difference in Knock Sensor plug and fan temperature plug

Can anyone tell me the difference between the fan switch plug and knock sensor plugs on the passenger side on a 305 TBI vine e. Both are the same size. one is black and the other one is white. I dont know which color belongs with which. Thanks for your help!

Neither should be black.

Knock has dark blue. Fan switch has green/white.

Connect one of them to a ground with the key on, if the fan runs, then that's the fan switch wire.

I think iosigma was referring to the color of the connecting plugs. and Newbie is talking about the color of the wires they are attached to, but everybody's probably figured that out by now. Hey, I'm catching up!
