Turn Signal Help Please!
Hi all, I have a very weird problem on my 84 t/a that's been going on for some time now. It used to work fine but over time well this has happened:
When I use the turn signal stalk, and turn left or right - the outer lights blink for turning no problem - (front parking, front side markers, and rear tail light turning sections.) Now the inside arrow indicators - you can hear it on and off but it doesn't blink mainly when turning left, then sometimes it does. Also, right side same way, but when you pull down on the hazard light cylinder for the emergency lights - they come on and freeze but the outer lights all function fine. This is driving me nuts! What is going on here and what is the fix for it?
All help is Greatly appreciated!!
Thanks in advance
Jeff

Re: Turn Signal Help Please!
4-way flashers have a different flasher unit that the turn signals, that might be an issue.
That's weird that the outside lights work and flash - usually when the indicators burn solid, that means a bulb on the outside is blown. So I'm stumped - maybe it's a dash/cluster issue.

When you say “when you pull down on the hazard light cylinder” do you mean when you turn on the Hazards, OR do you mean when you put some pressure on the button cylinder?

When you say “you can hear it on and off but it doesn't blink” do you mean the Indicators do not come on?

Re: Turn Signal Help Please!
I have the same turn signal problem. Only left turns so far. I'm not sure about the hazard lights though. Mine doesn't do it very often, but it is something I'd like to fix.

Grab a small light bulb such as a side marker.
Throw it in a spare socket or solder leads to it.
Connect one of the leads to the light blue wire at the connector located behind the dash on the right side of the steering column.
It’s a flattish connector with up to 11 wires in it.
(Don’t disconnect the light blue wire just tap in to it.)
Connect the other lead to any ground.
Position the bulb in an area you can see while in the cockpit.
Now operate the LEFT turn signal and/or Hazards.
Does the test bulb exhibit the same problem the Indicators exhibit?
