Driver Headlight Problem
Driver Headlight Problem
Hello,
I recently bought a 83 Firebird S/E. The lights both went up and down when I did the test drive, but now they will both go up, but only the passenger side goes down.
The motor seems to be working, as in that it spins up, and I can manually crank it down.
I'm wondering what the easiest way of finding out if its a wire, switch, or motor problem?
Thanks in advance

Re: Driver Headlight Problem
when you crank that headlight manually up and down, does it feel like theres alot of slack in its movement? What i mean is if you crank it say, half way up, if you grab the headlight, can you move up and down quite a bit. The internals use 3 plastic *****, that pivot the headlight motor to the headlight gear, raising and lowering it. Plastic isnt tough, and the easiest fix ive found is to find some junk bearings for say a fwd car, like pressed in ones, and take the metal *****, put 3 in each headlight instead of the plastics, and they work great
