I went to autozone and bought WIRE DRYER, read the directions, and used the product 2-3 days ago. And my car WILL NOT START! Im at wits end! Im furious, sick to death of driving my moms white ford winstar van...I NEED HELP!!!! Ive even tried to hand dry everything with no such luck...FML

Re: Wet Ignition????

Did you check fuses - maybe a fuse blew?

Is the starter turning?

Re: Wet Ignition????

Just being wet wont keep it from running, hell Ive power washed under my hood a few times and started it afterwards. But like n00b said, you might have blown a fuse or something.

Re: Wet Ignition????

I didnt even think of that. The starter IS turning the engine...which fuse should I look for? After I replaced the hose, I tried starting it and it fired right up, but I had to keep revving it to keep it on. I parked it, turned it off to see if it would start again and it didnt....I sure hope its a fuse. Thanks

I just checked the fuses. They all look to be in pretty good shape. They look new still.

did you just look at the fuses or did you check the fuses to ensure they were not blown.

Re: Wet Ignition????

I just looked. Should I just play it safe and buy new ones? Do I need ALL of the slots filled? Cause it looks like some of them are missing..

Re: Wet Ignition????

if you have water in your cap it wont start or will run horrible mark your wires or flip the cap upside down and clean out any dirt or moisture then spray a quick spray of wd40 and see if that works

Re: Wet Ignition????

Unless you have a cracked cap or something else wrong, water shouldnt be able to get in there easily. Like Ive said, Ive power washed tons of engines and only once did I ever get water in the cap. And that was because it wasnt locked down like it should have been.

To the OP, go to an auto store or electronics store, or even a walmart or something, and get a 12v test light. Connect the clip to a good ground source and turn the key on. Touch the test light lead to both sides of each fuse in the fuse panel (there will be a small peice of metal exposed on both sides of the fuse). If the light turns on for both sides of the fuse, its good. If it only comes on on one side, the fuse is bad. If it doesnt come on for either side, then the fuse is either not being used, or just isnt getting power from the battery.

If you find a bad fuse (or fuses) replace with the appropriate amp fuse. Each slot should be labeled as to what amps fuse should be there.
