The passenger's side blinker works fine when the brake pedal isn't pressed and headlights aren't on. But as soon as lights/brake are engaged, the blinker doesn't work, and the dash indicator just stays lit up constantly; doesn't blink.

Anyone have any ideas on what might be causing this?

EDIT: Problem solved, replaced the bulb with the wrong one

I know it's not the most exciting subject in the world, but I'm kind of at a loss here.

I changed the bulb, but don't really know what else to do.

 

common on chevys ...replace the signal light bulbs Usaualy in the front, what happens is the bulb filament shorts to the other circuit.

Poor ground connection in one of the light sockets. Look at the little ground tab that makes contact with the base of the bulb. They will break causing the ground circuit to become open. This leaves the filaments grounding through each other and fouls the operation. You'll know this is happening by turning on the lights and flashers alternately and seeing if the wrong filament lights up on one of the bulbs. Since it's affected by the brake lights, I would expect it's in one of the rear sockets.
