can broken hatch motor drain battery ?
I wanna know since my housing for my hatch pull down motor is a bit broken if it could keep making my battery dying. i posted about my battery dying before but no one helped and i found out yesterday that my tail made a funny noise when i was outside or inside whether i was outside, inside, car on or off. i unplugged it because when i touched the motor it was extremely hot.
i wanted to know if the hatch motor housing or assembly is broken and if it keeps trying to pull down the hatch but has no support and keeps trying every like 5 seconds if it could drain a brand new battery in like 2 days without turning it on?
thanks for all your help... - Aaron

If it's hot, then the motor is trying to turn but can't, so yes it could drain juice.
It's also possible for your fuel pump to run always regardless of key - make sure it's not the fuel pump running.

anything mechanical that is powered by electricity, remember this. The harder it is for that mechanical part to move, the more amperage it will draw. This is why you see circuit breakers instead of fuses for power seats and such. That way, if a bigger person uses the seats for too long, or if they end up getting stuck, the excess amperage will heat up the element in the circuit breaker, and disable the circuit until it cools down.

Short answer, YES. The solution is to repair the broken hatch motor housing and anything else that is broken. I can help with the parts you'll need and the expertise to get it repaired properly.

@camaronewbie- cool yea im sure it wasnt my fuel pump because i noticed the noise was different compared to the fuel pump noise, and when i put my ear to the back i didnt hear a louder noise coming from the tank... like the pump inside working and it inside my tank would sound louder when i put my ear to it.
@RyanEricW
