OBD1 problems
Hi all,
I own a 87 iroc 5.7 tpi that is killing gas rightnow it has me at 12mpg. i spoke to my mechanic and i gave him the list of the probable causes that may be causing this that i got from here from another posting. He said that rightnow the computer in my car is not receiving/giving any feed back so my car is running on what he called limp mode which basickly he said makes the car use up alot more of everything than what it really should. Any body know of a website that would be helpful with this?

Re: OBD1 problems
You should be seeing a Service engine light on the gauge cluster if it's in limp home mode/open loop. Does the service engine light work when you first turn on the key? Should be able to scan the ECM and find out what's causing this. Could be several things.
