Wipers...

1988 GTA

Hey y'all! So I dropped my dash to get to the heater core, after I dropped it I realized I didn't need to, but that is neither here nor there. So I dropped the dash, replaced the heater core, popped off the coil, replaced the hoses, put it back together and now my wipers don't work. Oddest thing!

On the passenger side there was like a three wire female plug that didn't get plugged into anything because well, there looked to be nowhere to put it! On the driver side under the dash I remounted the thing with the blue box on it. Car runs GREAT, starts first crank most times, even feels better in the butt dyno due to a little timing adjust before the car went down for the heater core.

Wondering if there is a wiper connector under there/where should I start looking. Everything worked great before hand.

Re: Wipers...

well i kind of am ghaving the same problem does your wipers under the hood connect to a little black box with torx screws on it? because with mine, mine has a black box and if the screws are too tight or two loose the wipers wont work on mine my highs don't work properly they dont go up and down the window they lift only about 1cm up and then go down repeatedly its pissing me off and my lows work only if that box's screws are at just the right position also the windshield wiper's mist button shoots no mist at all $^@&@)#)#@!!!!

Re: Wipers...

My wipers aren't doin' a lick of anything, totally baffling. Anywho, I took a picture of the female plug that is just chillin' at the point.

Re: Wipers...

i haven't seen anything like that before i wonder if it even is connected to anything? I think the best way to check is with a multimeter or take it to a electrical shop that deals with cars i have no clue or else try to look around to see if you could find maybe something possible it could plug into?

Re: Wipers...

I have no clue what it is, my 1988 Trans Am doesn't have that but my 1988 GTA does, its the oddest thing.

Re: Wipers...

FIXED IT!

Steps are as follows!

1. check fuse

2. shake the wire harness violently out of frustration

3. wait for fuse to pop

4. replace fuse

5. use wipers
