hi everyone got a new one for you.

just finished rebuilding my 89 gta to point of her been on the road.

having probs with the oil pressure gauge, as soon as the electrics go on the needle goes of the scale well over 60psi and keeps there after the car has started.

has any one had his problem but most of all has any one fixed it???

Sender wire is grounding somewhere - did you reconnect the sender wire?

Some cars have the guage sender on the top of the china wall, just to drivers side of distributor (single wire). The OPSU above the oil filter on these cars only supplies fuel pump circuit (2 wire units).

Later cars combined the 3 wires into one OPSU unit located above the oil filter - 2 thicker wires are fuel pump circuit, smaller wire for guage.
