Big three question?

I am doing the big three and I was just wondering what the consensus was. To star washer the grounds or not to. While taking the original battery to engine ground off I notice that there's a star washer between the ground wire and block. So I cleaned up the block to get ready to attach the larger ground wire. Then I started fighting with myself to install that star washer or not. Plus when connecting to chasis clean and star washer or not ?

Also I will have the two factory locations battery neg. to chasis, and battery neg. to engine ground, Plus that same engine ground to the same chasis ground. Can I also ground the alternator to the chasis on the other side or will this cause ground looping, and noise?

Re: Big three question?

I used star washers on all my grounds but also scraped the paint off around the contact points.

Re: Big three question?

the alt doesnt have a ground wire, it grounds itself through its body to the brackets on the engine. if you connect a wire off the alt to ground youre gonna fry something.

Yes, I know this what I ment as many people do is attach a ground wire to a bolt that goes through the case. I have a cs144 and it has a place I can attach a wire to on back instead of the through bolt. Just wondering if with all the grounds I have now, if I add this (as lots off people do, just most don't have the other grounds too.) Will I get noise from ground looping in my audio?
