turn signals?

Ok so the other day, I dropped the steering column down and stuck a 2x4 under it so it didnt go real far, just enough to get the gauges out. I changed some bulbs, then re assembled it. And all of a sudden neither or my turn signals worked at all. BUT if i put on the hazards one works. I did some digging and finally found a blown fuse, replaced it everything was fine for 2-3 days. Now turn signals are out again. Just checked and the fuse was toast again. Another new fuse and they work again. Anyone know what might be shorting out to cause this?

Re: turn signals?

Since this started happening after the column was lowered down, that's the first place I would look. Check for any obvious wire breaks or chaffing to metal. If you have a multimeter find the powered side of the fuse when the ignition is on "One lead on the fuse while in fuse block the other to ground". Then put the meter on the other side of the fuse "One lead on the non-powered side the other to ground". Now move the wires in the area of the column until you see that you have continuity on the meter. This will show you your short to ground. Hope this helps.

Re: turn signals?

Dropped the column again, looked around and it seems a wire chaffed through a bit. They work again, well with another fuse lol. They work but there is no click, and they go a lot faster than they did before. But the indicators work as well as all four lights.
