Battery cable question.

What are these to wires coming out of my battery cable? I went to change the positive side of the cable because it was in bad condition and now the car wont start. It want's to turn but it wont turn over?

Also if I just splice those 2 wires into my positive would I be fine?

Re: Battery cable question.

Right well since no one answered I just went ahead and spliced both of them and hooked them up and started right up I checked around a bit and one of the wires is for the fan's and the other one is for the ecu

I dint get the battery terminal cable because I wanted more room at the terminal so I got a 4 gauge battery to starter

the reason I had to redo all this was because I got a 140 amp alternator so I needed a bigger gauge wire from alternator to battery

Re: Battery cable question.

I know this post is about 4 months old now, but I seem to be having a similar issue with my camaro. It will turn over, but just wont start after I took off the positive cable to change the battery. I actually am not sure where the black line connects to, I traced the orange one back to the ecu, but the black one I am clueless with.
