*Please Help*Gauge Cluster Issue*
Okay guys I gotta tough one for you, well, it's tough for me, so help would be great. I just bought an 89 camaro rs and the gas gauge and coolant gauge didn't work. I was told the wires were cut so I took the gauges out to find wires and I couldn't. While they were out, I also took out the tach, battery, coolant, and gas gauge. I put them all back in. I went to start the car and see if i fixed it, but I made it worse. Now NONE of my gauges work. No speedometer, no tach, no battery, no coolant, no gas, nothing. Does anyone have any idea as to what could be going on and how I could fix this? Please help. Thanks!

If none of the needles move it sounds like you have no power to that area, even tho the dash lights might still light (the lights use a diff power source).
First check the GAGES fuse.
If it’s good put the key in the RUN position then use a voltmeter or test light (the type for testing for voltage, not a continuity tester) to probe for power on the pink wire with a white stripe at the right side connector in back of the dash.

Re: *Please Help*Gauge Cluster Issue*
An 89 would have a mechanical speedo, so unless you unhooked it for removal, it should still function. Did you remove the entire cluster or individual gauges? If the former, it may well be that you didn't get the cluster reseated properly. If the latter, Nina's suggestion is the way to go.
BTW, disconnecting the battery when woring with electronics is a good idea.

If you removed the cluster, maybe one or both of those idiotic connectors fell out when you replaced it - I know this was a problem with mine (86).
