hatch motor.
first off,the maintanence manuel dosn't show a wireing diagram on the hatch motor part of the wireing system. I think somthing in the hatch pull down motor part of my wireing is killing my battery.Had no trouble until I fixed the swithch contact plate in the back so the top and bottom would line up.The motor was so hot after I opened it that I could hardly hold my hand on it.The motor isn't pulling the hatch down 100%.the switch in the front isnt working.and i open it from the key hole.I have to trip the switch in the latch and it gose down a little.then again for it to come up so I can close it.right now I got the motor wires disconected with the motor asembly up enuff to be able to get it to latch.but that wont keep the water out.Any help would be great.

Re: hatch motor.
You might have to adjust the bracket on the slider mount. Thats what I had to do.
It worked fine once adjusted, it just kept pulling down before I ajusted it.
If you have the same one I do, i have a 89 Rs. Not sure the motor mount is the same.
I know the 92 is different then the 91. Was a thread on her about it.
Hope you can get it fixed. Once they work good they are awesome!

Re: hatch motor.
good luck finding the bushings, i had to go out to so many different junkyards until i found my particular bracket and bushings that slide evenly with my hatch. They made 2 different bushings and brackets. 1 setup they used various years on the bushings will be very thin, and then you have a fat bushings 8 all total if (cracked). Did you also check the plastic gear that turns when motor goes up and down?

Re: hatch motor.
For all the aggravation, I would look at Moderndaymuscle.com for motors (about $23) or Topdownsolutions.com for the wiring harness around the "trigger" switch for the pull down.

Re: hatch motor.
I used Lon's kit to rebuild mine, working great for 4 years.
