Headlight problem won't close
Hello guys, I have a headlight problem that has recently popped up on my 91 Firebird and can't find a solution. The lights will open just fine but neither of them will close.
I tried tapping on the control module on the firewall as mentioned in a couple of threads here and it has no effect, so I opened it up and can't see any bad connections or problems on the circuit board. I tried jiggling the wire harness, tapping the electric motors, anything I could think of that would show if it was a bad connection and nothing.
If I use the **** and roll the headlights down maually they will pop up just fine when I turn them on, but they will not go back down. When I turn off the switch I don't even hear a click from the headlights or the module. The car has been parked in the garage for quite some time while I am overhauling the interior and doing body work, and the headlights worked fine last time I drove it.
Anyone have any ideas on what could be causing this problem? Is there some way I could bypass that module to see if the lights will work then, so I know if the module is bad? Unfortunately I don't have an extra module on hand to swap out and test it that way.
Any help would be much appreciated,

Check your tail light fuse.

Re: Headlight problem won't close
I just found out what the problem was, apparently if the driver side bulb isn't plugged in then the lights won't lower. I hadn't installed the new bulbs yet and as soon as I did the lights closed up. I never realised the wire to the bulb was tied into the popup motor, thank goodness it wasn't a burned out module.
