Hatch pull down on a timer?

As the title states, is the hatch pull down on a timer? Close my trunk, and it doesnt pull down, come back 24 hours later and its closed tightly (a little too tight even).

How long is it supposed to take? How long does yours take?

Re: Hatch pull down on a timer?

Nope. Your striker-sensing switch is going bad. Eventually it makes contact and closes the hatch pull-down unit. It also could be because the hatch is pushed to the rear and the hatch hook doesn't properly press on the striker-sensing switch. Is the rear spoiler aligned with the side pieces or is it pushed to the rear a bit? You'll need to re-align it if it is back. There is a tech article on doing this here on TGO.
