91 Camaro RS High Beam Issue

Alright, so the high beam switch itself isn't working. When you pull it back and forth it is just loose.. I don't know if that makes any sense. Like there is no on setting or off setting it just wiggles around freely. For example if the switch was working, you would push the lever towards the dash and it would stay on correct? And when you pull it back it turns off. For me, there is no clicking that would mean it goes into place, it's just loose.
My right blinker won't work and have decided to pull apart the steering column to replace the blinker switch. Will replacing the blinker switch have any effect on the high beams or is that something different? If it is something different could you tell me what I would have to replace to get the high beams working again? Since it will be taken apart, might as well fix whatever I can.

Thanks, any advice would really help!!!

Re: 91 Camaro RS High Beam Issue

theres a metal rod that goes through the sterring column for the high beams. the lever moves that rod to trip the high beams.
