Your tach wire needs to go to the PRIMARY of the coil.
The tach wire goes from the PRIMARY non-key side of the coil, to the firewall connector, to the dash connector, to the tach.
It’s a WHITE wire.

Its a LS1, so it has 8 coils. Please dont splice into any of those wires
For 99-02, your tach output is R10 (WHT) from the PCM. Please keep in mind, LS1s have a 4cyl tach signal
If it were a 3rd gen or pretty much any other single coil engine, what NINA posted would be dead on. DIS systems are a bit different
