Need a little help guys. Ive read in a few places that the RED wire (Blue arrow) can be connected to a HOT source or a IGNITION SWITCH source...
Which is better?
Another important question. Could I wire the WHITE wire ( red arrow) to the wire that powers the dimmable light bulb inside the AC/Heater control unit?

its ment to be wired to a switch 12v and not a constant, so wire to a switched 12v source. you can easily tap into the wires for illumination on anything thats illuminated when you turn on the lights. or you can run that wire to the fuse box to one of the terminals labeled "ILLUM". you can do the same thing for the power wire. spot should be marked "IGN"
So then I could just splice both the WHITE and the RED wires to any positive light switch wire? Sweet. Thanks man.

red no, the gauge would only function with the lights on like that

if you look on your fuse box, youll see a few single slot terminals. they are ment to use with a single male spade terminal for expansion. the ones labeled "IGN" are switched 12v sources. the ones labeled "illum" have power only when the lights are on.

youll need to use an inline fuse with it.

AHHHH. travis401, you are the man. Thanks for the help man. I was afraid that I was gonna have to get behind the light switch. But you made my life a hell of a lot easier. Again, Originally Posted by travis401
