Map Light Rearview Mirror Wiring
Scored a rearview mirror with map lights today that cam out of a 92 RS.
I'm looking for how to wire this thing up. My Camaro has a plain old rearview mirror, but I do have an overhead console so I don't think this job will be too difficult.
Coming out of the mirror harness, I see 4 wires. One white, one black, one gray and one orange. Obviously the black wire is a ground, but what do I do with the other 3?
Also one other question, The mirror has the two main map lights, the on/off switch on the left side but on the right side in the spot where the switch is on the left, there is a small lens and what appears to be a tiny third bulb inside. What is the purpose of this third bulb?
Thanks.

Re: Map Light Rearview Mirror Wiring
Sounds like you got a light sensitivity Automatic dimming rear view mirror...
That's not a 3rd blub its probably the green LED that lights up when the mirror is in the non-glare position... colors are different from my diagram but...
One wires hot all the time ( map lights )
One wire only works when the ignition is turned to key on.
One wire gos to your transmission ( in automatic transmission it is the gear selector switch. In a manual transmission it is the back up switch )
One wire is ground.

I continued to use the search function using different terms and finally found out what it is. Are you aware of the "Mystery dash light"? You know, the one that shines down on the HVAC controls?
Well, turns out this is It's brother light. It's a tiny lightbulb inside the mirror that is supposed to stay on at all times and shine down on the HVAC controls. I have read however, that like It's underdash counterpart, it is so dim you are unlikely to ever notice it LOL!

Just opened the mirror again for a closer look. Look like we have a T74 bulb in there:
