Re: Under The dash rig?

WOW ive taken apart alot of 3rd gens but these connecotrs I have never seen. The first one the only thing i can think of is whoever had the car last made a home made bypass for the neutral safety switch. Not 100% sure thats what it even is. Try to trace back the wires as far as you can and see where they go and if there where spliced at all. It might help identifing them

Re: Under The dash rig?

Both of those look kind of familiar from when I had the dash out several years ago.

Is this a T/A? From the wire colours, the first one looks like it MIGHT be the connector for the 'dimmer module', basically a power transistor mounted in a heatsink that controls instrument panel dimming. Looks like the module is missing, and the jumper is to keep the panel lights on full. Got no panel dimming? Afaik, T/A's only had it, not Camaros.

The second one - sorry not coming to me yet, I think it may have been for some option not installed on my car.

Edit: If it is the dimmer module, the brown wire comes from the park position on the headlight switch, might indeed have some effect on your 'tail-light issues' whatever they are.

Re: Under The dash rig?

the first picture is the connector for the remote dimmer switch for the headlights. it has been removed and bypassed to be on full power with no dimming function. you can buy the dimmer new at autozone for 20 something dollars
