Dome Light Help!!

OK, here we go... I was outside today trying to wire and install a lighted rearview mirror. The heaadliner has been out for sometime now needing replacement and I never had installed a new bulb in the domelight to see if it worked. Well, go figure, I tested it today and theres no power to the domelight. Checked the fuse, and nothing... floor courtesy lights are working fine however. I traced the domelight wires down the driver A pillar and found that it was unplugged from the vehicle harness.

Now, my question is how in the heck do I get to the other end of this harness? I removed the lower under dash panel, removed the fusebox, and still cannot figure out how to reach the harness. Heck I cant even see it.

My initial thoughts were... I would just splice into the floor lights, but is this ok to do or what should I do? I dont want to remove the dash or cluster to reconnect the connectors.... help fellas...

My 85 shop manual shows two looms coming out of the high kick panel area (for door jam lights, power mirrors, etc) on the driver's side of the car. One loom has nothing coming from it; the other only a single plug (Dome LP) with an orange and a white wire. It's very high up. Could it be reached by removing the dash pad?

EDIT: Pic and a thousand words.

Re: Dome Light Help!!

I have pulled the dash pad and still cannot get anywhere near the harness... cant see it or feel it either.

What I may end up doing is ordering the led dome light you used in your thread and do leds in the footwell area.... That way I can just tap into the footwell lamps and not worry about any additional load on the wires....

Sidenote... I posted in the interior section to get recommendations on the best led 194's to order for the footwell and mirrors if anyone here has any suggestions....

I'm afraid the pics/diagram are cross car, side to side and front cowl to rear, so there's nothing helpful there. I did some digging. Perhaps the info will be useful, perhaps not. C202, C107 and 108 are heater grounds.

Re: Dome Light Help!!

I would just run new wires.

I kinda went whacky when I wired up the new mirror. The map light ground goes to my ignition/fuel pump kill switch(hidden). < So the map lights dont work when the kill switch is on.(mirror still has +12v)
And since I dont smoke, I wired the lighter in series with the dome light. (You have to short out the lighter plunger thing) So, the dome light works normally, only if the lighter is pushed in.. Get it, it's lighter.......
