91 Camaro Speedo

I have a 91 Camaro Z28, it was a tpi car, but now has a carb on it. I know the speedo and cruise go through the ecm first then to each componet. Was wondering if anyone has tryed to wire in an older style vss buffer from an 89 and older tpi car. And if the speedo and cruise worked. I have search on here but haven't found anything yet.

On my 89 TPI, the speedo was cable driven. You would have to hook up this cable to an older mechanical speedo. Im not sure about the cruise control system working with it since mine doesn't have that

I think you can run the 4000 ppm output of the Vss directly to the speedometer.

Re: 91 Camaro Speedo

you can install a dakota digital sgi-5 and use the vss 4k ppm input and and have a the optical output of 4k pin B11 of your 730 ecm.
