So, I just finished replacing the last part of the long checklist, the EGR Valve. Unless you are familiar with my posts, my 89 305 TBI has had some crazy activity.
In short, she runs sound until she is warm then all hell breaks lose and she goes bat **** crazy, She dumps fuel in like she is thirsty, stops pumping fuel whenever. SES light flashes, stays steady, or none at all. There is no onset of these problems other than it being warm or hell today was 50ish deg. and it started doing it right away.
I've replaced the entire Dizzy with brand new cap n rotor,
new coil pack
new sparkplugs (not fouled),
new wires
new ESTC (electronic spark timing control mod)
new MAP
new EGR valve
new CTS
new O2 sensor
new knock sensor
new TPS
new Injectors
new injector harness
new TB seals
New vacuum line

pretty much you get the idea. I have 1 last thing to replace and that is the ECM, any chance that it may not impact the problem? I've taken it to get the SES codes pulled and none are stored, I can never get it to have a light when I go to test it.

Also it doesn't seem to have any grounding out, and I cleaned all the plugs and checked for crack wiring throughout the entire engine.

Sounds like it is going into limp home mode which may indicate a processor failure. Make sure the prom is plugged in tight and not partially out. Make sure the connectors to the ECM are secure. The ECM could be bad. About $25 at u pull it salvage yards or online around $50. If you get a different ECM remember to put your old prom and netres into the new one as they are all different. You may not get a ECM that was from your car originally as they were used in lots of things.

Question, where is the Prom located, I know where the ECM is, and I plan on buying a reman'd one, I just hate the rat's nest of wiring I have

geez sounds similar to mine im buying new ecm this week is the blue thing in ur pic the prom? heres my post
hey i was wondering if u cud help, my ses light goes goes crazy whilst during a normal start up AND when connecting A and B in ALDL port and as lights flickering (as tho theres a bad wire)the engine drops revs, does this mean its ecm problem or electrical, my car 86 iroc TPI 5.0 has been 'broke' for 1 WHOLE YEAR NOW and its killin me im over in scotland and no want wants to work on her plz help heres a vid
p.s ive changes plugs, leads, 02 sensor, coolant temp sensor and thermostat, new battery.car ran perfect till it was out for a hard drive (which wasnt common) my gut feeling is its electrical i cant get any codes
