Where is the Battery Sign/Alt Sign in the dash? I need to replace the light. My alternator and battery are both new, and the wiring is good between the alt and the batt, but it’s not charging. Before I spend the $50 to go get the full electrical diagnostic, I want to replace this light bulb to see if that will fix it (has been suggested by several people and a professional auto mechanic). But since it has never lit up, I don’t know where it is behind the dash. Any help?

I have never heard of the dummy light causing your alternator to not charge. What does your gauge say? Have you tested the alternator? Auto zone does it for free. I have had a few brand new alternators NOT work right from the box.

Did you check the big fuses under the hood?
