Alt wiring help please

putting a TPI in an old chevy truck using the serpintine system and accys
I need to know where to run the wires from the pigtail on top of the alternator (red, black and brown). I will be running a volt meter as a gauge not an amp meter.

no you can just attach the sense and the output post

Good information but the only thing not mentioned is what kind of resistor do I need to use? Someone mentioned a 5 watt but what is the resistance value?
does anyone have a source or a part number for the reisitor?

looks like gm recommends 50 ohms inline if you install it in the engine compartment solder it in and use shrink tubing over it.
