Got this car recently and the dash didn't illuminate. Took it apart, found out it was a few blown bulbs and then everything came back to life. Upon this, my SES light normally came on, after putting the dash back together, it no longer comes on at all. Also, when I hit the trunk release, the BRAKE indicator lights up and chimes. But it doesn't do this when I actually apply the handbrake. Could this just be a possible fuse or do I need to take the dash back apart?

 

All the gurus on here, no one has any insight?

 

Got it all figured out.

 

what was the cause?

 

Bulb was blown and the ground for my trunk release wasn't even connected in the rear where the motor is.
