This looks like the schematics for the TBI. What wires do I need to get rid of including the different sensors and taking out the A/C unit as well.

Re: going from tbi to carb
You don't NEED to get rid of any; just disconnect them and make safe

Most however go mad and butcher the harness ,chopping out what is not needed

meaning if at a later date someone wants to put EFI back in they need a new harness

Re: going from tbi to carb
Why do guys hate TBI's? I have never had anymore problem with them than a carb and they have better drivability and fuel economy. Ever since I got a fuel injected car I have never wanted to go back to carbs. I guess I am just old.

I want to got to carb because you can do just so much more to the motor than having a TBI or fuel injected. I just don't want my car being operated by a computer with all the sensors. They didn't have them in the early '70's and older, and didn't need a rocket scientist to work on them. That's why there aren't that many "backyard mechanics". All because of the computers and technology. Any way that's my thought and possibly a few others out there. And I am in my latter 40's, also

Re: going from tbi to carb
No offence intended but you can do so much more with fuel injection. Its like having a carb tuner under your hood all the time. I mean no more cold morning hard starts, no more crappy fuel economy, no more tuning the carb because you hit a pot hole or it just getting out of adjustment. Sure TBI can be a little limited because you only have two injectors to work with but it is as basic as it gets. As far as tuning goes you can either jack with it or get someone to do a tune on it. If you are really into it you can install the stuff to run multiple tunes you can swap between on the fly. As far as hard to work on. Really they are easier. I mean they give you trouble codes that tell you what isn't working. All you need is a paper clip to check them. I ran carbs for many years there is no way I would go back to them unless I had no other option but to each his own. Good luck on the swap.

yea but ya can't install timing gears or higher lobed cams, right? And the sound of a 4 barrel kicking in sounds so good. But if there was a way to bypass those timing sensors to get the above mentioned I might keep it TBI.

As long as they are within reason. I am running bumped up compression, rv cam, edelbrock intake. take a look at www.tbichips.com/truckmods.htm. Look at some of his projects.
