Help w/ cargo harness & hatch wiring

I really need help with this. The PO cut all the wires in my car from the back seat back, except for the tail lights. Have rewired rear defrost. Have rewired hatch release. Cargo light, hatch pull down, and center tail light still need love.

1. I cannot find the orange wire for the cargo light. My shop manual says an orange wire comes from the fuse box to power the light. I do however have an orange wire that was cut that comes from the hatch pull down. Picture:

2. I found the yellow/black wire that powers the center brake light. However the terminals to the hatch contact assembly are missing. Diagrams in my manual arent exactly matching up to what is on the car. I need a picture of how it SHOULD look i think. Picture:

3. I don't have a harness that comes out of my pull down motor like all the pictures I've seen. I believe he may have cut it. I also don't want to pull it off, as of right now it latches down, and works through the switch up front. I would like to figure out how its hooked up and where its grounded. I found the red/white wire that powers the motor, but don't know where to hook it. Also, I need to know where the orange, black, and white wires go in the picture. Also the cable that runs out of the solenoid. Again, I think a picture of one properly hooked up would help. Picture:

Please forgive any ignorance I may be showing, its been a long day.

Re: Help w/ cargo harness & hatch wiring

Okay, I finally realized I'm missing the motor for the hatch pull down. That explains why I can't find the harness. Also, I need help getting a name for a part. Here's a photo:

All three wires are badly worn out, orange one already broke off. I need to get a new one, but I'm not finding anything on the part store sites. Hopefully its not a junk yard part.

Check the list in the Vendors forum.
TopDownSolutions, ThirdGenRanch, & Hawks all offer the pull-down motor units.
And don't forget e-bay.
(But be advised, complete motor/drive units will consume a Franklin.)

Flipping His Lid

The red wire with a White stripe goes from the LID fuse, to the Cargo Light, and to the connector, if it’s there, which contains a blue wire and a White wire.

The
orange wire went to a connector the PO cut off.

One end of the
orange wire goes internally to the unit relays, the other end plugged into the vehicle harness.

If you’re on a budget you can get one, even non-working, from a salvage yard, as long as it has the connector you can use that as a model or to obtain parts.

The unit is locally grounded, so you should see the ground screw not far from where you’re working.

Happy Racing!
