CB Radio?
Okay so i have an 87 firebird and i have always wanted a cb radio to put in my car. well i have seen many youtube videos on just wiring them to your fuze box like to the radio fuze i was not sure if this was safe. and my plan was to do that. also what is a good cb to buy and do i have to wire any thing to my speakers? Can i get a built in speaker (to the cb)?
Here are some the cb i have looked at:
Cobra Compact 40-Channel CB Radio
Uniden Pro 510 XL Car Kit
Uniden Pro 520 XL
and lots of others.

Re: CB Radio?
Yes, you can wire it to the radio power, that would be a good source.
The Uniden 510/520 is a great radio, I've used them a lot in the past, cannot kill these little suckers!
They come with an integrated speaker so you don't need to buy an external speaker.
The 520 is a little more expensive than the 510 because it has some extra features that you might not even use, like the RF Gain **** and PA (if you connect an optional external speaker on the outside of your vehicle).
So the Uniden is a very good choice.

Re: CB Radio?
If you expect to move the radio between cars, it would be easier to have the magnetic mount antenna and cigarette lighter plug.
If you want to make it a permanent installation, I would recommend to plug the power into the fuse box and install a permanent antenna, which is better due to no cable coming from the outside through weather stripping.
So it is your choice.

Re: CB Radio?
You don't need a huge "permanent" antenna. It just needs to be taller than the are. Also, it should be at least 3' above the car for it's best coverage.
