I'm installing my new engine and want to make sure everything is done right. The hacks that had my car before appear to have cut and added some wires (not didn't do a very good job of it at that). Lots of bad crimp connections and electrical tape.

The large cable obviously goes to the starter. There is another small cable that comes off and has been spliced into multiple times. I know one goes to the alternator...the other two on my car have connectors on them as well as a fuse holder (which I think was their substitute for a fusible link). Anyway, I looked at some wiring diagrams and they helped some but also confused me a little more.

If someone could let me know what wires come directly off the + side of the battery and where they go to, I'd appreciate it. Thanks.

That's what I thought, but wasn't sure. No idea why they spliced into the charge wire. Probably easier for them than correctly fixing whatever problem they originally had...
