Now A Tue Offical 3rd Gen Owner...

Had my first breakdown tonight! Yay me! haha Honestly though I can't complain, I've been VERY luck so far with my '86. Never had any issues with it at all. Not even any cooling problems which is a shocker.

But tonight I went to start it up at home and it cranked and cranked for about 5-10 seconds (which is unusual) before it finally started up and drove me downtown. Then after my shopping I went to start it up and it did it fairly quickly this time, but no more than 10 ft. later she dies on the highway. Now she just cranks away and won't start up for more than a coupe seconds then die again.

My electric fuel pump is completely silent which coupled with the other "symptoms" indicates to me my fuel pump is a goner. Not a huge deal, but I have to leave my baby overnight in a small very dimly lighted parking lot before I can work on her tomorrow. My town has a high rate of auto crime and I'm very worried right now! I've debated staying with it overnight but it gets quite cold at nights here now.

Just hope everything's the way I left it tomorrow...

Good luck with that, make sure and check your fuel pump relay.

My baby made it trough the night and is now back up and running with the help of my old man! Turns out it was an electrical problem and not a bad fuel pump which was a simple fix when we found it. Just very relieved right now. lol Hate it when my car is sick.
