Charging problem ...need help

Hi,

I have a Camaro RS-1991 V8 (5.0), recently, I started having charging problem. While the car is idle or driving mode, the voltmeter on the dash says 13+. As soon as I start putting load such as turning on the A/C and headlights + turning signals/CD Player the voltmeter drops to under 12 volts (dash light and the headlights become dimmer) and stays for a while and then it goes back again to 13+ and it keeps doing this every now and then continuously.
Everything back to normal as soon as I switch off everything (A/C, Headlights,..etc)
I have standard alternator (100 Amps) and I also recently replaced the battery with bigger AMPs.
I'm worry that the problem might get worst by time if I keep it this way and I don't feel comfortable driving long distance trips.
Does anyone have an idea what could be the problem?
Thanks

Go over the alternator connections to make sure there is no hidden corrosion between the connections.

Also you stated “
driving mode” so we assume the RPM can be above 1200 and the lower voltage still occurs?

If yes to the above have your alternator load tested.

Happy Racing!
