When i did mine to get power remote door luck/unlock i was in limbo on getting remote start to . about $50 more on the install kit and alot more time to install . Now that i got it in no question on getting remote start . Just food for thought while yor doing the upgrade go the rest of the way u will be happy with it .

eBay is your friend in this situation. I bought a NIB older Avital Cyclone (made before Avital became another division of Directed Electronics) for around $30, which basically just locked and unlocked the doors as you want. Just keep in mind that you WILL need a couple extra relays, especially if you want to run a hatch popper.

Or, if you know someone who works at an audio/security shop, you might be able to get a good deal. I got my $400 2-way system for $80, which had been sitting on their shelf forever, because I worked with a guy who was a cousin of the guy that ran the shop.

Well, it did cost me another $40 for the install (said they couldn't do it free at that price ). Which I have redone twice since then (cleaned it up and actually mounted the brain to something instead of letting it just hang out under the dash, and full replacement of the dash and harness).

Whatever you decide, don't forget the extra relays if you want them. And hopefully you already have power locks (that kit is extra $$$ as well).
