Rear Hatch motor Problems...
I replaced the motor for the hatch lid and still nothing happens... it can lock and unlock even if I use the button on the center console it will unlock with no problems but the motor does nothing and I have no idea why....
This Is my last try at this cuz I can only find ways of how to replace the motor which ive done, but cant find anything on what the rest of the assembly is to see if that is the issue. like when I took out that black chip thing I noticed a switch is on the side of it. like which way should it be switched up or down whats its purpose? I think it has to be down cuz otherwise I couldn't fit it back on the motor. and when you use the key to unlock the trunk u can see that a metal piece contacts something electrical I tried to pull it out but the clip wont budge and I wont want to break anything. I know this was long and pointless but I need help...

I think that's the limit switch your talking about. Have you checked or replaced the relay?

The hatch release and the pull-down unit are on two different circuits and fuses. Did you determine you have power at the red/white stripe wire that connects to the blue wire?
Take a look at the Tech Article that I posted here on TGO years ago under the General Repair category. If you have power and a good ground wire, then problem could be either the striker-sensing switch or reversing switch. I posted the link to the reversing switch, but both are available (along with ALL the parts to repair these pull-down unts) on my web site.

Re: Rear Hatch motor Problems...
The black box on top of the motor is the reversing switch. There is another switch just in front of the latch attached with a single hex-head screw called the striker-sensing switch. How it is supposed to work is when the latch releases the hatch hook the striker-sensing switch opens starting the up cycle. When the pull-down unit reaches the end of with the up cycle the reversing switch is tripped by a one of two tabs on the side of the lift rod. That reverses the direction the motor travels when the circuit is started again by the hatch hook latching in the latch and pressing the striker-sensing switch.
If either switch is bad it will cause the symptoms you describe.
