no power to my key in the steering column plz help

hi, im brand new with the 3rd gens and just picked my up past week(had an 80 camaro before this one). any ways i got it off a buddy of mine and he said it needed a starter. no problem,we bump started it down the drive way and i took her home.the cars got a 350 with a 5speed. so i replaced the starter tonight and after that was done i go to get it the car to fire her up and nothing! the car has power, the head lights turn on. the battery is good, the starter is good obviously. like when i get in the car i turn the key and i get no buzzing noise, no ebrake light, and no power at all to the starter. these things worked great before i changed the starter.any help would be great. i wanna play with my new toy.
