How do I get power without an enine?
So I just picked up an 87 IROC roller and was wondering what do I need to hook up to get power to the car. Basically I want to have the ability to roll the windows up/down and open the hatch remotely without tearing out the interior.
I have a battery and the pos./neg. terminals are there along with all the wiring, but when I installed the battery nothing happened.

Not exactly the right way to do it, but...
Get a bolt and a nut, and bolt all of the terminals that are where the starter SHOULD be together. That's where the dash power comes from (and from there, almost everything else except the fuel pump and ECM which are on a separate junction block).
Just make sure to cover the connection quite well with SOMETHING.

Ok... now the question is which wires am I looking for? The hot from the battery is the wire in the center of the pic, and I think the wires with the bolt attached to them next to the exhaust is what I'm looking for correct?

The wires you need to connect to the battery cable are the ones bolted to the bellhousing in the pic. You will also need to bolt the negative cable to something solid on the frame for ground.

There are two solid red wires that go to the main bulkhead connector by the brake booster, chase those two and connect them to + on the battery, and then ground the negative side to the chassis.

As you can tell wiring is not my thing lol! I have been using my 86 IROC as a guide, but since it is carbureted and not tpi, I'm having some issues.
I don't plan on putting a motor in the car for some time and there will only be a battery in there when needed to im looking to do this the safest way possible.

Thanks Z28ricer for the heads up on the location of those wires! I didn't get the hatch to open, but I was able to get the windows up so I could remove a door lock. Now if I can get a key made from that lock I will be set! If not then I don't know what I'm going to do LOL.
