what are the black and black/white wires under the dash?
I looked thru the austin thirdgen diagrams and cant find it. Its a black wire and a black wire with a white stripe, stuck together just like a 12v power strip.its dangling under the dash. The ground is the brown wire right?

Re: what are the black and black/white wires under the dash?
I have an 83 Z28 and the wires you mentioned have been cut and taped up and are dangling from the bottom of my steering column. I wish I knew what they were for as well. I'm in the process of replacing the steering wheel and horn doesn't work, wondering if they are for that???
Re: what are the black and black/white wires under the dash?
Well my horn doesn't work either, but my whole accessories circuit doesn't seem to be working. The fuse isn't blown, but it used to get blown often. Now it doesn't blow, but none of the accessories work.
Under the dash, right around the middle of the plastic trim piece that's close to the pedals, I found a small circular object. It looks like there was a black and black/white wire connected to it, seems to be a little bit of wire sticking out. No picture right now, since it's dark and I've been taking the dash apart a lot lately.
I have no idea what it is or does, it just looks like one of those circular objects you would find on a circuit board: http://www.reatechnologies.com/Images/board.jpg
