Twitching Battery Gauge and Corroded Coil Wire

'92 Camaro, 305 TBI, 160,000 miles.

In my never ending quest to solve my car's stalling problem I discovered the other day that my open-element air cleaner had managed to rub through the insulation on my coil wires.

So a junkyarding I went, and got some new wires to replace them. When I stripped the main coil wire (the thick red one that I presume provides the power) I noticed it had corroded a tiny bit. Just a little green on the surface.

Additionally, my battery gauge gets kinda twitchy from time to time. It's showing good voltage, but it flickers.

Now then, could the slightly corroded coil wire be related to the battery gauge twitch? Could either of those be related to a car stalling at idle? Here's the kicker: the car was flooded about a year ago. The water came halfway up the car. The car was stalling before then, but the battery gauge twitch didn't start until after.
