bench testing wiper multifunction switch
is there a way to bench test a wiper multifunction switch to be sure it is ok before installing it...one on '90 Camaro is apparently bad and I have one in tool box that I'll use if I can be sure it is ok...thanks

Which Switch Is Witch
Connect one lead of an ohmmeter to the White wire of the switch and keep it there for the entire test.
Connect the other (which I will call it the moveable lead) lead of the ohmmeter to the pink wire.
When you press the washer lever you should see 0.
Turn the switch to the HI position.
The ohmmeter should indicate between 20 and 30 K.
Now connect the moveable lead of the ohmmeter to thegray wire.
The ohmmeter should indicate 0.
Ditto for the purple wire.
Now turn the switch to the OFF position.
Now connect the moveable lead of the ohmmeter to thegreen wire.
The ohmmeter should indicate 0.
Now turn the switch to the PULSE position.
Now connect the moveable lead of the ohmmeter to the pink wire.
The ohmmeter should indicate 0.
Ditto for the gray wire.
