Cluster issues
So when I swapped in a 1987 5.7TPI and auto trans into a car that was a 1987 5.0TPI with manual trans, I also swapped the main engine wire harness and speedo cluster. The cluster/lights worked good in the original car but when I put it into the other car, some things don't work on the cluster anymore, namely the engine temp guage and the right blinker light. Both these items worked fine in their respective cluster in their original cars, but now do not after the swap Weird???

Use an ohmmeter to probe the gage temp sender dark green wire at the engine.
Have the key OFF for these measurements.
When the engine is cold the ohmmeter should read about 1400 Ω.
Then probe the dark green wire at the connector which contains it at the back of the dash.
Does it also read about 1400 Ω?

The green wire can be found going to the sender located on the left side, below the valve cover, on most engines.

Re: Cluster’s Last Stand
Thanks. I crawled around under the hood tonight and finally found the sender. It was under the left side exhaust manifold between the front two spark plugs. Anyways, the sender was there but no wire. Found the wire coiled up and sitting at the firewall near the distributor. It was all heat cracked so I replaced it with a new wire. Hooked it up to the sender, went for a good drive and it worked!! It consistently read about 75 degrees. Thanks again.
