91 Z28, no crank, VATs?
91 Z28, no crank, VATs?
For about 3 weeks now my car sometimes wont start when I turn the key, wont even get it to crank and the security light stays on. If i wait 10min after trying it the car will start. Ive read a lot of places that its due to the VATs not reading the right resistance and not allowing the car to start. What is the best way to fix this? Getting a new key or ignition cylinder?

Clean your key thoroughly- sometimes things get built up on the resistor chip. We just bought a car the girl said wouldn't start, cleaned key, it fired right up.
